This is an interesting website called The New American Dream.  I would hope that this is what we should each be striving for in our 100k house projects.

Their mission is to help Americans consume responsibly to protect the environment, enhance quality of life, and promote social justice.   They also talk about how the American Dream has turned to quantity over quality, which I couldn’t agree with more.
